Sampler Dungeons Guide: All 24 Old Compass Locations

What Are Sampler Dungeons?

Sampler Dungeons (つまみぐいダンジョン) are 24 hidden challenge stages that don't even appear on the world map until you find their Old Compass. Each one locks you to a preset weapon-and-gadget loadout, so they play as skill checks rather than gear checks, and each pays out a reward you can't farm anywhere else as easily.

• First clear of each dungeon grants a Skill Book (スキルの書) worth +1 skill point, 24 points total, much faster than leveling for them.
• Clearing 5 Sampler Dungeons unlocks the Craft Hammer gear (クラフト トンカチ; English name unverified).
• Loadouts are fixed per dungeon; your weapon upgrades don't carry in, so any point in the game is a fine time to run them.
• The three フルコース ("Full Course") dungeons are tank-themed finals: one each for Power, Tactical, and Speed.

How Do Old Compasses Work?

There are 24 Old Compasses, one per dungeon: 21 hide inside breakable blue crates tucked into normal stages, and the last 3 are rewards for clearing specific Buried Ruins, reported to require Super Spicy (激辛) difficulty. Once you hold a compass, it guides you to its hidden dungeon on the world map.

• Blue compass: an expanding circle fills as you move toward the hidden dungeon.
• Orange compass: a proximity meter rises as you get closer.
• Yellow compass: a needle points straight at the dungeon and spins when you arrive.
• Compass behavior details are community-reported (games.gg), so treat the color rules as a guide, not gospel.

Where Is Every Old Compass? (All 24)

Both major JP wikis publish the same 24 dungeons with the same compass stages, and this table follows Game8's order, cross-checked against GameWith row by row. Dungeon names are the Japanese in-game names for now: the English release has its own 24 names (Dashes of Spice, Cheese Pull, Bento Box…), but no source pairs them to the Japanese rows yet, and only ~18 of 24 can be pinned mechanically, so we hold the pairing until all 24 close. Full loadouts for all 24 dungeons verified against Game8 JP on August 4. The three 地下遺跡 (Buried Ruins) compasses at the bottom are the Super Spicy rewards. English dungeon names will be added once every row's pairing is pinned.

Which Sampler Dungeons Should You Run First?

• Run each dungeon as soon as you find its compass; the skill point is a flat, permanent gain at any stage of the game.
• Skill points from Sampler Dungeons are the fastest catch-up mechanic for underleveled builds: 24 guaranteed points beats grinding Power Eggs.
• Hit 5 clears early for the Craft Hammer gear unlock.
• Save the three Full Course dungeons for post-game; their compasses sit behind Super Spicy Buried Ruins anyway.
• Compass hunting pairs naturally with relic and crystal farming, so check crates in every stage corner you pass.
